How Do You Store Medifast Foods And Meals?

People sometimes ask me how much space is needed for your Medifast foods. Another common concern is whether you need a refrigerator or freezer to keep the Medifast meals fresh. You really don't need a lot of room for the Medifast meals. In fact, I've heard of people storing them in boxes under their bed. Most of the prepackaged meals come in small boxes that contain pouches of the foods. People sometimes mistakenly assume that the shakes, puddings, or soups need to be refrigerated. They don't. You mix them from the dry ingredients that come in pouches or boxes. The same is true for the brownies, soft serve, and chilli. Now, the bars and the chips, nachos, and puffs don't need to be mixed or constituted. For them, you only have to open the wrapper.

If having enough room for storage is a problem for you, then you can always break down the boxes and lay the contents flat. And I even know people who do this not because space is a problem for them, but because they like to separate out their meals in the way that makes preparation the most convenient. For example, I know someone who will separate out all of their foods and then will make a drawer, box, or canister for all their shakes, brownies, puddings, and soft serve, and other similar foods. And then there are people who will take this same idea and separate out their meals by the day. So, they might have a box or drawer marked for each day within the week. And for example, in the Monday drawer you may find 2 shake packages, 1 bar, 1 pancake mix, and 1 chili mix. Or, in the Tuesday drawer you might have a latte, a scrambled egg package, a brownie mix, a ready to drink shake, and cheese puffs. And then other people will just grab the boxes exactly how they are shipped and stick the whole thing in their pantry without sorting any of it.

It really does come down to your preferences and how you tend to organize. But the bottom line is that you don't need a lot of storage space for even a large monthly Medifast package. All of the foods stack flat and do not require much room at all. And to save space even further, you can sometimes break down the main box for each item and just store the pouches. For example, 15 bars come to a box. Nothing says you can't take those bars out of the box and then store them in a bag that would lay perfectly flat. And you don't need any refrigeration or freezer unless you chose to store the leftovers.

Can't I Just Make My Own Meals Rather Than Using Medifast?

A very common question that I get regarding the Medifast diet plan, is "why can't I simply just cook the meals myself?" I can understand why someone would ask that question, especially when they think they can save some money by doing this. I wish I could tell them it's that simple, but it's really not. If you can figure it out, please let me know, because I haven't been able to do it.

I suppose I can't say its impossible to do this, but goodness I, and most other people, don't have that kind of time on their hands. There is a very good reason for this. It's because the nutritionists who created the Medifast plan were very precise in the nutritional contents of every single meal. Each meal has the exact amount of protein and fiber that is essential for weight loss. The problem that most of the ingredients that are in these meals can't be found in generic supermarkets.

To give you an example, take a look at some of the shakes that Medifast has created. You are talking about shakes that have an exact formula of soy and wheat protein. Not only is it difficult to find this, in most stores, but if you are lucky enough to locate them, I'll bet you anything that the price isn't cheap.

The only way I could even think about making this a cheaper alternative would be if you bought all of these ingredients in bulk. I don't know about you, but I don't have that kind of space in my kitchen. You also have to worry about keeping the shake under 100 calories because it's important to your overall diet plan. There is a lot to think about. It's not as simple as just throwing a bunch of stuff in a blender.

Also, the health bars that you get from the plan contain only 2 grams of sugar, and they actually taste good. Go to your local supermarket and see if any of the health bars that you find there will be able to be that low in sugar and still taste good. Somehow, I don't think you are going to have much luck.

Any way you look at it, you are talking about a lot of time, effort, and money to duplicate what can be done by just going to the Medifast website and picking out what meals you want to eat. They deliver it, and you eat it. It's as simple as that.

You can learn more about this diet plan by checking out Medifast reviews as well as other reviews from companies in which you can order food online.

Does Medifast Sell Ready-Made Lean And Green Meals?

Many people really like having most of their meals taken care of with medifast. Since 5 of your six daily meals are prepackaged and prepared for you, there's not a lot of cooking, shopping, or preparation that needs to be done with this diet. However, for the most part you are responsible for your lean and green meal. This is the one fresh meal that you either make yourself each day or fulfill in another way, like using a frozen or restaurant meal.

Some people would rather not have to prepare this meal. I'm often asked if medifast sells ready-made or frozen lean and green meals and if so, where can they buy them. As of this writing, the company doesn't offer ready-made items that would be considered a lean and green. I am only speculating, but I suspect that there is a couple of reasons for this. First, I believe that the company wants you to have access to fresh foods. Second, I think that they want for you to learn how to prepare healthful meals on your own. After all, one day you will have hopefully lost your goal amount of weight and you'll go off the plan. At that time, you'll need to know how to plan and prepare healthy meals in order to maintain your weight loss. Being responsible for one healthful meal per day is a pretty easy way to ease into this process. But this doesn't mean that you'll need to slave away in the kitchen on a daily basis, which leads my to my next point.

There Are Convenient Ways To Fulfill The Lean And Green Meal Requirement: Some are disappointed when I tell them that medifast doesn't offer a prepackaged version of the lean and green. But, fulfilling this requirement doesn't need to be difficult. If you remember that the requirement is really just lean protein and three low carbohydrate vegetables, the process becomes a little easier. You can use restaurant foods and frozen meals as long as you chose them very carefully. You don't want frozen meals or restaurant foods that are full of carbohydrates, preservatives, sodium, and fat. You may have to read labels and evaluate your options, but this is very doable. You can also make use of prepackaged foods that you buy at the grocery store. Pare some lean roasted meat with a simple bagged salad and not only does that take a whopping few minutes, but that's all you need. A bagged salad with egg or grilled chicken works too. Prepackaged stir fries are easy also, as long as you are careful with the sauces. Simple soups and stews are also fair game as long as you don't fill them with loads of starchy vegetables.

So to answer the question posed, as of now, medifast does not sell ready-made or frozen lean and green meals, but they can be quite easy to prepare by using prepackaged items from the grocery store or frozen or restaurant foods. And learning to choose your own fresh foods really will benefit you when you are transitioning off of the diet.
