No matter where you turn there is somebody telling you that they have found a diet that will finally unlock the weight loss secrets. You read the newspaper, go online, watch TV, and it hits you like a ton of bricks. In this article, I'll be talking about two of them. I remember when the Atkins diet first came out, people were raving about it. The main reason for this was that the plan claimed that you could eat anything that you want but from only a specific food group. I don't think that cutting carbs is as dangerous as bulimia or anything like that, but it's definitely not something I'd be comfortable doing. If you want a healthy way to lose weight, your diet is going to have to be complete, and you cannot have a complete diet without carbs. Carbs are what give you energy.
Eating a diet that is very heavy in meat can cause a lot of damage. You are talking about problems with cholesterol, heart disease, and blood pressure. So, for every person that you hear about who lost weight on Atkins, there is another person who is also suffering from one of the aforementioned ailments.

You are going to be eating foods that offer true nutritional value filled with protein, carbohydrates, good fats, and most importantly, fiber (meat doesn't contain any fiber). Don't worry, you still get to eat really tasty food like pizza and pasta. Medifast understands that if you are not going to like the food that you eat, then you are probably not going to finish the diet.
The dieticians who created the diet plans mixed the perfect balance between health and taste so it doesn't feel like you are on a "special" diet, which is not that easy to accomplish, but they have been able to pull it off.
